When the contractor peeled back the floor of the Cabbagetown Youth Centre's gym, he wasn't expecting to find a stream running beneath it. It was an unexpected expense, but one that the Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) Foundation wasn't going to let prevent them from fulfilling their promise to revitalize Cabbagetown's basketball court, taking it from a run down facility to one the community could be proud of.

Best Buddies Canada, a non-profit organization helping kids with intellectual disabilities, recently hosted it's Second Annual "Hooping It Up" fundraiser event in 80 schools across Canada. York Mills Collegiate Institute hosted the event last month, joined by the MLSE Foundation and Rosey Edeh from Global News at Noon. The event brought together the school in a basketball fundraising event meant to promote inclusion and anti-bullying. There was a good turnout for the event, and a great time was had by all, while raising funds and awareness for a very good cause.
