The MLSE Foundation runs 50/50 draws at home games across all four of our teams - Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, and Toronto Marlies - making the 50/50 the largest on-going fundraiser.
A 50/50 draw is a lottery for which 50% of the ticket revenue brought in goes to the winning ticket holder, and 50% goes to the benefiting charity.
More than $1.3 million in 50/50 tickets were sold at Air Canada Centre, BMO Field and Ricoh Coliseum last season. Our current record jackpot is $15K, taken home by the lucky winner at the February 11, 2012 Leafs game!
The 50/50 program currently supports five charitable partners (Right to Play, KidSport, Best Buddies, Special Olympics, Reach for the Rainbow) throughout the season.
More than 5,000 volunteer shifts are required annually to run the 50/50 Program. Volunteers typically work four hours per shift, arriving two hours in advance of game time and selling tickets until approximately halfway through a given game (timing varies a little depending on the sport). Our volunteers are then welcome to stay and watch the end of the game from a standing room area if they would like to do so.
If you would like to become a 50/50 volunteer, please read through the general volunteer manual which will give you a sense of how a game day runs for the 50/50 program.
If you have a winning ticket to claim, please contact us 416-815-5583.
