How We Teamed Up
The Team Up Foundation invited Right To Play to be a charitable partner in the 50/50 Draw at Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and TFC games throughout the 2010/2011 season. Money raised goes to support Right To Play and its newest program, Youth To Youth.
Youth To Youth is a Toronto-based educational program that inspires, facilitates and supports learning partnerships between inner city public schools, public high schools and independent schools. Youth To Youth provides an opportunity for students throughout the GTA to develop their leadership skills to mentor, tutor and coach students of inner city schools.
About the Organization
Right To Play is committed to every child’s right to play. They give children a chance to become constructive participants in society, regardless of gender, disability, ethnicity, social background or religion. Through games and sports, they help create social change in communities affected by war, poverty and disease.
For children and youth in the Greater Toronto Area, Right To Play operates the highly regarded Youth To Youth program in partnership with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). Established in 2002 and incorporating over 20 schools, Youth To Youth is a unique and impactful initiative which connects high school-aged students with children in priority elementary schools for educational, peer to peer tutoring programming. Emphasizing the importance of experiential learning through physical activity, Youth To Youth helps students create memorable educational experiences.
