How We Teamed Up
Originally a community partner of the Toronto FC, KidSport was adopted by the Team Up Foundation in 2009 following its inception. Team Up Foundation has quickly become one of KidSport Ontario’s key supporters through the 50/50 raffle program. Additionally, in June 2010 Team Up Foundation provided KidSport with a grant to focus on increasing participation in sport amongst young females across the city of Toronto. The funds received through the grant and the raffle programs are used directly to support the KidSport Grant Program ensuring that all kids can play.
Beyond Team Up Foundation’s substantial financial support of the KidSport mission, the Foundation has been invaluable in creating awareness for their community partners. KidSport has been highlighted during Leafs, Raptors, TFC and Marlies games, and has been invited to participate in Team Up Foundation events. Team Up Foundation has provided KidSport with a platform to raise the profile around the importance of its cause.
About the Organization
KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. Through the KidSport Grant Program, thousands of children across the country receive registration and equipment grants each year to help with the cost of sport and allow them to pursue their dreams and lead active and healthy lives.
