Leafs and Lady Leafs serve up good food for a great cause! - Tuesday November 29
Toronto Maple Leafs players, coaches and management along with the Lady Leafs joined the Team Up Foundation at Earth Bloor West for the 20th Annual Toronto Maple Leafs Have a Heart Dinner presented by AM640 Toronto Radio.
Guests were treated to great food and drinks and had the opportunity to mix and mingle with the entire roster of the 2011 Toronto Maple Leafs, who acted as waiters, bartenders and servers for the evening.
Guests also had the chance to bid on some amazing silent auction items which were donated by the Leafs and Lady Leafs. The top auction item of the night was a Fishing Trip with Brian Burke. The winning bidder of this item will spend the day fishing with Brian Burke and then have their "catch of the day" cooked up by Chef Robert Bartley.
The Team Up Foundation Hard Hat was also a big hit with guests. With $10,000 being raised through hard hats, guests turned their hard hats into a cool memorabilia piece as they had all of the Leafs players autograph the hard hats.
Overall, it was an amazing night for everyone involved. The Team Up Foundation would like to thank the Leafs players, Lady Leafs, coaches and management for their support of the Have a Heart Dinner and their ongoing support of the Team Up Foundation. We would also like to thank the event sponsors and the venue for helping to make this event such a success. And finally, we couldn't do what we do without the enthusiastic support of our guests. Thank you for attending the event and for donating generously through our silent auction, hard hats and aprons.
Funds raised at the event will help support our 4 GTA rink refurbishments this season. This includes Sunnydale Rink, which will be the site for the Leafs Outdoor Practice taking place on January 4, 2012.
