Charity Golf Classic - Tuesday September 6
On Tuesday, September 6th Leafs past, present and future came together to tee off at The Leafs & Legends Charity Golf Classic presented by Scotiabank at Rattlesnake Point in Milton. The event, which sold out weeks in advance, had 72 teams hit the links with the Leafs all in the name of charity.
Event guests were treated to some amazing gifting from our sponsors, had the chance to purchase our popular Mystery Bags, and enjoyed a BBQ lunch before heading out on the course with the Leafs and Leafs Alumni. On course food sampling and activations greeted our guests at almost every hole. The highlight on the course had to be the Beat the Coach hole – which put Ron Wilson up against event participants and his players. This hole had guests howling as they watched Ron and the players chirp one another for bragging rights. The day wrapped up with a sit-down dinner, which included some exciting live auction bidding on items like a Trip on the Team Charter, and the opportunity to bid on autographed memorabilia and more experiential opportunities in our silent auction.
We are excited to announce that the event raised $350K net!
Proceeds from this year's tournament will support the refurbishment of four rinks in the Greater Toronto Area. The rink refurbishments are part of the Foundation's legacy program, which highlights the importance that recreational facilities play in shaping the lives of people in a community by promoting physical activity and by creating an inclusive environment.
Partial proceeds from this year's tournament will also be granted to Camp Maple Leaf, a long time partner of the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Association. The funds will be used to support a BUILD project at the camp that supports the Foundation's mandate of providing sport and recreational opportunities for youth of all abilities.
