Charity Golf Classic - Tuesday September 7

Past, present and future Leafs hit the links at Angus Glen Golf Club on Tuesday, September 7 for the Leafs and Legends Charity Golf Classic presented by TD Waterhouse. The sold out tournament featured 63 Leafs, who joined golf tournament participants for a BBQ lunch, round of golf and celebratory dinner. Golfers were greeted on entrance with some great gifts, which included the new 2010 Official Leafs Jersey, enjoyed some on-course sampling such as oysters and steak sandwiches, competed against Ron Wilson and Rick Vaive in Beat the Coach and Beat the Alumni contest holes, and ended the day with the top three teams and most honest team from each course taking home some amazing prizes. Alan Frew even made a special appearance at the tournament entertaining the crowd with his tribute song to the Leafs.
The tournament, which was held in support of the MLSE Team Up Foundation, raised over $250,000. The funds raised will benefit the Foundation's legacy investment and grants program, which provide children and youth, of all abilities, access to sport and recreational opportunities. One of the immediate recipients of the funds raised is Camp Maple Leaf, who received a $50,000 grant from the Foundation at the Golf Classic.
On behalf of the MLSE Team Up Foundation and the Toronto Maple Leafs, we would like to thank our donors, sponsors and event patrons for their generous support.
